De-Icing Systems

McCauley introduced an alcohol deicing system in 1960 that involved a reservoir from which alcohol was distributed on propeller blades to keep ice from forming. McCauley continues to service the after-market with components for this system. In 1967, McCauley added an electrical deicing system. This method is considerably more efficient, and the complete system includes slip-rings, brush block assemblies, wire harnesses, boots and timers. The long life and reliability of these components have built a premier reputation for the McCauley system among personal and business aviation users as well as regional airlines.
